About Us

As a unique entry in the human services industry, Friends of Dorothy provides a needed service that ensures mission fulfillment for more clients.

Launched by caring individuals and LGBTQ+ representation, Friends of Dorothy provides a new opportunity for serving Dallas, Texas. The Board of Directors is passionate and committed to the organization’s long-term success. The board comprises members with career experience in operations, administration, and healthcare. They are also actively seeking membership from physicians.

As a new nonprofit organization, Friends of Dorothy can develop programs that directly meet the community’s needs. Being new, the organization can adapt to new situations and new options as they arise.

Anthony Bosello

Anthony Bosello cofounded Friends of Dorothy and is the organization’s Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer. He is a Financial Controller with over 20 years of experience in corporate accounting, finance, nonprofit, federally qualified health center, inventory, Medicare, and Medicaid.  

As a financial leader, He has driven the company teams by developing and executing strategic financial processes and systems; Anthony’s expertise in enhancing organization profitability has been evidenced by increased revenue above the annual company’s target. Furthermore, business economic challenges have always been his greatest motivation.

Anthony offered a mastery of the complete spectrum of expertise, including GAAP procedures, strategic planning, customers, banking, and vendor relations.  

Alexander Gonzalez

Alex Gonzalez cofounded Friends of Dorothy and is the organizations President and CEO. Alex has the strength and drive to help people. Working as a Regional Operations Director for non-profit organizations such as Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Alex established strong ties within the Dallas community. Alex’s passion is to advocate for people in the community that do not have a voice and provide a hand-up instead of a handout. During his time at Goodwill Industries of Dallas, Alex was focused on changing lives one job at a time. Alex was instrumental in fundraising and attracting donors to support the organization. At Goodwill, he was instrumental in organizing the annual fundraising luncheon with over 800 guests, which raised over 1.5 million dollars each year to support the mission.

Alex has always been focused on supporting the community. Alex has volunteered and raised money for non-profit organizations such as Dallas Aids Arms, Dallas and Houston Food Bank, Houston’s Women’s Shelter, March of Dimes, and Habitat for Humanity.

Alex’s current role as an Operations Director in the medical field has strengthened his passion for helping people. Being a public servant most of his life has taught him to be compassionate to those less fortunate, complete understanding that everyone deserves the best life possible, and be driven to support the community. Alex is a high-performance-oriented operations leader offering an exceptional record of achievement over a 20-year career. He is a tenacious executive with a strategic and analytical approach to solving problems, bringing in customers, and accomplishing profit targets. One of Alex’s top talents is identifying and capitalizing on emerging market trends and revenue opportunities. He organizes team workflows to maximize efficiency and foster collaboration, clearly focusing on meeting business revenue, performance, and cost-control objectives.

Alex has a successful track record in establishing operational benchmarks and resources needed to achieve strategic goals, proactively driving improvements as necessary, and working with the executive team to set accountability standards and clearly defined measurements of success. He actively supports the sales team with customer relationships and supplier requirements. Alex prides himself in motivating and leading a high-performance management team; attracting, recruiting, and retaining required members of the operational team not currently in place; providing mentoring for management development and succession planning.

Alex’s goal is to continue to support the community and provide services to improve the lives of his friends, family, and neighbors.
